Powell River Water Watch Coalition was formed May 2010 by several local community groups in direct response to the City of Powell River’s surprise proposal to push through a plan to co-treat municipal sewage at the local Catalyst Paper Mill with great speed and little, if any, public consultation.
The coalition’s goal is to maintain public ownership of water and water-related utilities. If you would like more information or to get involved, please check our Library and Action! pages or contact prwaterwatch@gmail.com

Hello!
I enjoy swimming in the ocean and am considering a move to Powell River.
I am concerned about the “current” state of ocean pollution in the area of Powell River. Is, or has, anyone been testing the ocean water in Powell River? If so, what are the results?
Thank you.
